Alyssa & Joseph
We got married on 25 April, 2020!
The bride and groom
One, a music educator from Long Island, the other a burgeoning white-collar office worker from Vermont. They met through friends—if in a circuitous path. It’s not the most common love story of 2019, but it is our story.
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
(Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth) sings hymns at heaven’s gate;
For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Engagement on 13 July 2019
My goodness: Was it July 13 or 14? It was at midnight, so that date is iffy. Either way, after a full day of spending time with respective friends, Joseph proposed to Alyssa at near-midnight under the shadow of Abraham Lincoln at the memorial named for the 16th president. The tourists were happy, but not as happy as us.
Marriage on 25 April 2020
We got married! It was by way of a phone camera and a bunch of family and friends visiting virtually from all over the globe, but we got it done. It was a wonderful day for us, and we hope it was great for you as well.
Reception...someday?
We’re looking forward to hopefully soon hosting you for a gathering that will make up for how long we had to spend apart from each other.
Moments
From road trips on highways and country passes, to rock shows in dingy clubs, to dining at some of the worst eateries in this country, to holy crap a lot of weddings, and to home games at our local sports concerns, we try to have fun sometimes, despite lives that try their hardest to not accommodate. Now: We miss leaving the house.
